Pulsation Dampeners with PTFE, DuPont TEFLON, or LDi FlexFlon, Diaphragms.
THE FLEXORBER PULSATION DAMPENER SERIES "Flo & Sog"

Basics of the "Flexorber" dampener designs to compensation for the lack of responsiveness and life of PTFE based membrane materials, by :- Increase in diameter to improve the ease of response to pressure change. Concentric ripples or bonded elastomeric backing to provide resilience. Contour reversal diaphragm stroke support. Integral anti-extrusion support, spanning multi flow paths. Minimum down time capsule change-out, preserving system integrity.

Featuring: Optional secondary containment sealing, & Hazard alert porting from between multi- layer diaphragms. 10:1 safety ratio between hydro forming pressure and MAWP. Bolt and flange ring stressing in accordance with Appendices 1 & Y. Fully solution annealed housings. 20 year proven fatigue resistance life. Twelve bolt pattern, with three of twelve elongated providing mounting point with nuts. The largest volume in the business, 1000 in3, and the largest range of sizes and pressures. The biggest connections . Split line safety band coverage.

Flexorber VLP Flow Fluctuation Accumulators "SoG-VLP/--"

1. Single connection, a bad choice
Single connection only for flow fluctuation removal by accumulation. These are for acceleration head applications, and minimal cost. The Flexorber VLP will not intercept pressure wave activity, nor prevent negative suction activity breaking the supply column and causing knock.

2. Always at least 8psi pulsation
Like all stiff PTFE membrane units with a single connection, an allowance of 8 psi or 0.4 bar onto the minimum level of pulsation attainable. This is necessary to cause the flow reversal in the single connection and to have response from the PTFE membrane. This is not a disadvantage of the Flexorber design in particular, it is the result of trying to use accumulators for a more complex job than accumulation and particularly the penchant for purchasing "T" pieces.

Flexorber Twin Port Low Pressure Dampener Series "SoG-TW-LP/--"

Medium & low pressure pulse dampeners using a PTFE cushion separator for the process liquid, and corrosion resistant hydro-forged housings. Aka "snubbers" - suction "bottles" construction, having:

1. Pulsation dampener diaphragm membrane
A. From ptfe / "ldi flexflon" / eidupont "teflon".
B. That has been made homogeneous by heating to the gel temperature .
C. That is re-molded to provide a contour which when fully deflected has a surface area substantially the same as the vessel housing against which it will be thrust. This to prevent stretching and "cold flow" distortion of the membrane.
D. Membrane (c. Above) provided with means to prevent the extrusion thereof into port or ports provided for liquid flow. Said prevention of extrusion provided by parts aka "anti-extrusion plate"
E. Anti-extrusion plate seal ably located and attached to said membrane in such a manner that flexing movement of membrane does not pull on nor disturb said sealing method
F. Said dampener anti-extrusion plate also providing means to prevent membrane rupture if dampener is pressurized on the liquid side without first applying a pre-fill cushion of gas to the cushion side of the membrane.
G. Pulsation dampeners diaphragm sealably located within a groove within dampener housing at periphery of diaphragm.
H. Peripheral location of said membrane in the housing in such a method that the circular line of deflection is at a different diameter for deflection toward liquid side, as against gas side.

2. Pressure bottles' housing / vessel for pulsation dampener
A. Comprising two parts each supported by flange rings complying with stress level and metal to metal contact outside a bolt circle, in accordance with asme viii appendix 1 and appendix "y"
B. Said bolts on a circle, so spaced as to provide material between bolt holes that enables the proper transfer of bending moment to be resisted by the outermost diameter of metal to metal contact.
C. Boltings set by calibrated torque to 70% of yield, and having sufficient elasticity plus ductility as to allow parting of the bolted parts that will allow the safe escape of overpressure .
D. With a "split line safety band" goto "the flexorber pulsation dampeners safety difference"
E. Having a cushion gas filling and venting point that enables both without the use of any special tools. Typically said filling and venting being operable to open and close with a 3/4" af wrench.
F. Liquid side half of housing manufactured from stainless steel to sa 240 grade 316/316l but containing no "titanium kill". Or appropriate corrosion resistant material to customer specification.
G. The above liquid part with liquid inlet and outlet means adaptable to the separation between said inlet and said outlet.
H. Gas half of housing from pvq sa 516 (gr 70 unless for low temperature
Application)

Generally
A. Dampeners as shown in the accompanying cross sectional / cut view
B. This pulsation suppression device bearing a stainless steel data plate, stamped with the vessel / shop / work order number, that enables the traceability to file containing all materials and physical property certification.

Features
A. Sufficient compressible gas volume of the dampener to enable the discharge from a specific pump to deliver its liquid flow in a fluctuating manner without generating not more than a specified amount of acceleration head
B. So arranged that - without additional cost - pressure pulsation is intercepted in order to isolate the forcing action of a pump, or valve, from the acoustic response of a system to the residual pressure change.
C. Improved in place flushibiliy, greater first in first out performance for more constant temperature, more suitability for fluids that require constant agitation.
D. Multi layer diaphragms with secondary containment additional sealing option
E. For use with sandwich diaphragm head metering pumps designed for hazardous, pyrophoric, and carcinogenic liquids.

Pulse dampeners for high pressure using ptfe diaphragm and corrosion resistant liquid wetted metal parts. Aka "snubbers" - pulse "bottles"
